We’re always thinking about unique beers to make and when I saw this style in a brewing magazine, I knew we had to make some. With guidance from Lana Svitankova, the author and all around champion for this style, I think we recreated a faithful version of a Ukrainian Golden Ale.
This Golden Ale differs from its British and Belgian cousins. The abv., sits between those 2 styles and unlike the Belgian beer, there is no noticeable flavors from the yeast. However what you do get is a golden beer with a unique sweetness, a medium body and in our case a hint of lemon and spiciness from freshly ground coriander which you might also find in Ukrainian versions. It’s quite delicious and very satisfying.
