Now a microbrewery, the building at 1 Wilcox Avenue in Center Moriches has been a workhorse for the local community in and around Moriches Bay.

Initially the building existed as Rumph’s Fuel Service. Above ground tanks (thank you for your foresight Mr. Rumph!) and the original Quonset hut dominated the site. Note the lack of offices attached to the main building as these were added at a later date. It was reported that a makeshift basketball court was set up inside for employees.

The site has housed many additional businesses over the years serving the local community. Jeff Lukert ran American Custom Canvas and Awning Co., which is fondly remembered and some of his work still shows throughout the town. Jeff’s Gymnastics trained many a child in the main building as did East End Baseball Academy. Various services ran out of the back of the building and offices including Terranova Landscaping, East Bay Corp. (construction) and East Bay Music (instruction).
