First and foremost, we wish everyone well during this troubling time. A few weeks ago we were thinking about the opening date for the brewery. It’s amazing how things have changed so quickly and now the focus is on ensuring friends and family are safe and have what they need to get through the Covid-19 crisis. On a personal level my family is fine and for that I am very grateful. The last few weeks, have felt more like months. We are still progressing with the brewery although construction is severely curtailed at the moment. I won’t predict when it will be done, but I know we will eventually get there.

With everything happening, I hope you have found the occasional moments of joy. For me, I love the spring and the flowers are still blooming regardless of whatever else is going on. I’ve found that not only am I listening to more music and a wider variety, but I’m playing guitar more. I fully admit that I’m terrible, but I enjoy it and it provides some needed escapism. The brewery has incredible acoustics with its curved roof and I’m really looking forward to the day when people get hear music in it while enjoying a beer.  I know we will get past this.

I’ll leave you with a bit of Irish wisdom for these times in the form of a toast:

“Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
The things that made you glad.”

Be safe and stay well!

A guitar, an American porter and daffodils in the back ground
Enjoying the things that make me happy - music, beer and springtime.
