Remember that time a rag tag army from Mexico beat a seasoned French Army? It was May 5th, 1862. Why do we celebrate here? Because the French would have been supplying the South in the US civil war with advanced weapons & munitions in exchange for cotton which was hard to come by. The Mexican army delayed the French enough that by the time they were able to help the South, the Union army had gained the upper hand and the outcome of the war was clear. After the US Civil War, Lincoln promptly told the French Empire to leave Mexico and the Americas which they did.
We’ll celebrate with a toast or 2. Mobile Munchies on site for you taco needs.
